Mussels and desserts are very good. Too bad the fries are cooked with beef fat. Bad for your health, indigestible, strong taste... and too bad for vegetarians. The best fries are cooked in OIL. Thank you for thinking of customers. The oil would have become too expensive??

Très bien reçu en ce dimanche midi 22 mai 2022 ! Nous sommes arrivés vers 12h20 et avons très bien été reçu, on nous a installés à une table le long de la rue très agréable ! Notre apéro a été servi très rapidement, nos plats également ! Nous avons tout deux pris une recette de moules différentes et avons vraiment apprécié notre repas ! Pour ma part c’était moules au boursin c’était un régal ! Je recommande ce restaurant sans hésitations, accueil au top et cuisine excellente !

Des moules trop CUITES et non GARNIES. (Rien à manger) POURTANT 900g annoncé, et bien on ne doit pas avoir la même balance!!!!! EN PRIME 1 seul bol de frites pour deux (congelés bien sur ) pour 16, 90€ LE PLAT !! ET les 4 TRANCHES de pain rassies on en parle ??!! Hyper DÉÇUES alors que mon amie m'avait fortement recommandé ce restaurant et était trop contente de m'y emmener (Même elle a été hyper déçue) . Remarque faite lors du retrait des plats Et LA on m'explique la cuisson des moules pour m'endormir (vivant dans le Nord et fille de poissonnière)🤣 Aucune remise en question VU que ce restaurant n'a plus sa réputation à FAIRE (ça je l'ai bien compris au discours du serveur ) Ensuite on nous demande si on souhaite un dessert et un café et vu que "NON" LE SERVEUR a le culot de tout enlever sur la table en se permettant de dire "bon bin hop" sans nous ramener l'addition ou nous indiquer où PAYER.....on a vraiment eu l'impression d'être mises dehors. **** Au final 54 € la facture pour 2 moules frites +APÉRO + 1/2 MAREUIL de rosé *** Cher pour finir par manger chez nous 😡 AUCUNE EXCUSE, AUCUN GESTE COMMERCIAL....Ce Restaurateur devrait prendre en compte que UNE RÉPUTATION SE PERD BIEN PLUS VITE QU'ELLE NE SE GAGNE BREF A FUIR FORTEMENT 😡😡😡

Honnêtement je ne recommande pas ce restaurant. Les moules n étaient pas tops, les frites était vraiment trop trop cuites et on a du se partagé un bol de frites pour 3 adultes. Le bol de moules étaient vraiment limités c est dommage pour le prix payé

if you want to have a good time, go your way. a depressing setting, a boss who avoids customers, tiny mussels, addition of flour or potato starch in the cream sauce for the children's mussels, use of frozen onions for the marinière sauce, frozen fries, stale bread. Despite a commercial gesture from the management, it does not do it for an establishment specializing in mussels….

The food is super bad, the moules are super small, the old waiter is rude, bad service, I don't recommend it... You pay a fortune for bad service. The food was cold. And besides, we made a reservation at 8:30 and they gave us the table at 9:30 an hour later. They are not serious.

Very warm and friendly welcome, hadn't booked, no problem, had a table for four, took mussels in cream, and super good Provençal accompanied by fries, Vendée ham and fries, also very good for dessert, cottage cheese with raspberry coulis, chocolate mousse and ice cream at the top. The service is quick to listen, I also recommend 52 mussel recipes, the choice is great.

Good address for mussels! A very important choice, even too much ... Difficult to choose and I often end up taking the Roquefort which never disappoints me! In the extension it is quite tight and the toilets are sorely lacking in space especially for washing hands, which is necessary when we eat mussels. Very disappointed with the homemade dessert (profiteroles) but I think only the whipped cream is homemade. So very good places for mussels!

Small restaurant located near the port, which offers a lot of choice of sauces for the mussels. In view of the world it welcomes, it is surely preferable to reserve a table in advance, even for two people. The mussels were very good. However the size of the room is perhaps too small compared to the people it can accommodate, having reserved a table for two people, we found ourselves stuck with strangers ... Lack of privacy. Manager a little too familiar and not very courteous.

Top restaurant, wide choice of mussels, excellent, for all tastes (52 kinds of mussels and fries). Particularly kind and attentive boss but not intrusive whatever it takes to make us comfortable. Really hearty dish. Everything is done so that we have a good time. I recommend this restaurant 1000% (remember to book) And good luck for the end of the season you are top 😊

Large selection of mussels with different flavors. The salmon / shrimp and lobster bisque are very good. The fries are at will, they would be better homemade. Small flats hence one star less. Eating on a table with the bar above your head is not very pleasant, you feel like you are being punished. And the mask is of course worn mouth and nose and not either on the mouth or under the chin. Staff pleasant but not sure to go back even if I enjoyed the dish.

The Moulerie de la Gare we knew and the preparations are always very good. On the other hand, the reception and the service lost in quality, as much on the part of the owners as of the staff. The only slightly thoughtful word we got was when it came time to add it. The tables near the bar are to be avoided, you have all the comings and goings of the service accompanied by reflections about the different customers. Too bad all these mussel recipes are still very good.

Very good restaurant, with 52 different recipes for the preparation of the mussels. We have a good time. The staff are very friendly and cheerful. Only downside for us, serve the fries in a single dish for the entire table. I prefer to have my share on a plate and not share a dish where everyone helps themselves with their hands, especially during this pandemic period.

Contrary to what has been written, the warm welcome and personal attention. We were served quickly. The mussels are very good and the dessert menu varied. Vendée beer goes very well with it. I chose the "I'm going, I'm going" mussels: about fifteen snails in my pan of garlic butter-cream mussels: very good choice. I like the more golden fries, but they were good. The balls lacked a little generosity: in my Coupe 3 chocolates, I did not find the white chocolate, but we ate well, for a correct price.

Good surprise for this restaurant which does not only offer mussels but whose specialty is nevertheless an impressive choice of mussels. Try the Laughing Cow Mussels or the Spinach Poppey Mussels. The service is very professional while being friendly. The prices are very affordable. Only small problem: the terrace is at the edge of the road. We had a lovely time in the evening.

The place does not look like much, but is worth a detour. Good meal overall. Mussels in delicious fish soup. Friendly children's menu served on decorated plates that make you happy, as well as the final surprise. On the other hand, there was an interminable wait. Boss disagreeable as possible. The waitresses are doing their best to straighten the bar. Bottles opened at the bar ... and not in front of the customers! Insufficient portions of fries. Do not take coffee ... you will have to wait at least 30 minutes, even if you ask for it again! Ok

Our unmissable event when we spend our holidays in Vendée. The staff are always welcoming, smiling and helpful despite a very large crowd in the middle of August. 52 different recipes from the most classic to the most amazing. The mussels are really excellent (I put a little bonus for the Sicilian 😊 !!) Only negative point for the fries which are frozen and served in small quantities: a very small plate for two people (I do not know if they are at will.) In short, I still invite you to go headlong, the mussels are really worth the detour !!

The + in our opinion: a really adapted children's menu, the only time my 4-year-old daughter ate everything (simple, pretty plate that makes them want) + little surprise with dessert, children have their place and we appreciated . Unacceptable and inedible. A 1/2 hour wait despite a reservation...for which we made the mistake of waiting. The mussels were inedible. The pitiful service, errors and omissions in the order which was taken 1/2 hour after having installed us (they had forgotten about us... Without an apology or compensation). No commercial gesture after a repetitive wait or the mediocrity of support. Not to mention that after pointing out the approach of the curfew and our wish to cut the meal short, the restaurateur encouraged us to finish our meal and not respect the curfew schedule for fear that we would not finish our meals and to encourage us to consume. After a step back, we wondered if we were not participating in the filming of the nightmare show in the kitchen... We would have preferred, at least we would have received the compensation of being invited to the result after improvement. More than disappointed, especially since we had very good memories of a previous visit 2 years ago where service and quality were on the agenda. Even the efforts of a pleasant waitress to compensate for the incompetence of her bosses could not restore the mediocrity of this place that I dare not call a restaurant. A place that we had enjoyed before but in which we will certainly not set foot again.

Nothing exceptional, except for the length of the list of sauces for mussels and fries! (Bolognese mussels?!? really! ?? and why not ... a pineapple pizza?!?) If the two of you have mussels, don't wait for the second portion of fries ... the one that has been placed on your table is to be shared! Considering the size, you will need to order an additional one! In short: it's the factory there! The young serving kids do what they can, but the pace is steady, it's racing, no time to smile ... you can feel the pressure! Having said that - plus points - we got a seat quickly and our dishes… quickly!

I went there in July very well, the profiteroles had 4 balls and strangely 8 days later they only had 3 and the quantity of mussels was less. Nevertheless, it is still very good. It's a shame because the welcome is nice, very pleasant. It is a place that I will recommend.

Lots of choice but expensive for quantity and quality. I took the Creole mussels a lot of raisins for a bit of mussels and at this price we expect fresh fries and not frozen ones with an aftertaste of bad frying. Unfriendly bosses. Personal no complaints. A cramped room you feel confined.

A word of advice: for children, if they like mussels, an adult portion is more suitable because the children's portions are small and expensive for the quantity offered (9.5 €). Without this downside on the children's portion, I would have rated 5 stars without hesitation.

Catastrophic, for mussels and fries we had a single portion of fries for 3, tiny scoops of ice cream at maximum price with a taste of old and soft cookies. The people next to us waited over an hour for their meals. Unfriendly waitress, I do not recommend !!

A great time! The staff are smiling, friendly and efficient. They don't take themselves seriously, it's all about simplicity. On the map side, it's also top. We usually come for mussels, and we are served! A nice portion, the sauce (among the 52 possible!) Is excellent, and they had the intelligence to put a portion of fries for two (anti-waste). A place to recommend without hesitation. Congratulations to you !!!

Complicated recovery, street service. We must have claimed at least 5/6 times our missing fries, they were served at the end of our mussel dish! Too bad to have to cry to be served !! In addition 2 dishes of mussels served at another table for at least 10 mm we sputter when we speak right? Not very covid all that remark made no reaction! Damage to nickel baking molds

First time at Saint Gilles Croix de Vie. Very good experience at the Moulerie de la Gare. Lots of choice, fresh mussels with fresh produce. Excellent homemade dessert. Very short waiting time between main course and dessert. The waitress is very helpful and lovely, keeping her pep, her enthusiasm for learning and her desire to continue in this job. Top managers, very helpful, family atmosphere in their companies. The manager, a former mussel farmer, is passionate about his field because the mussels served come from his park and it is excellent to learn in his company. His partner, a former cook, made an excellent choice of combinations in the different dishes, which is very pleasant. Stove on top, cooking the dishes and presenting the desserts and the quantity is just what it takes. Very good address, we will come back.

First time I have eaten mussels this fresh, and so good! I really enjoyed myself, there are so many choices of mussels it's really great there is something for everyone! As for my husband, he took a really delicious Vendéen ham, a very good piece of meat. Go there with your eyes closed, at least one restaurant that offers something other than frozen food! Small flat for the room, we were on the terrace, on the sidewalk. A little embarrassing in this time of health crisis between passers-by who pass by your plate and people who pile up while waiting to be placed ... Indeed, water in a carafe has a little taste. It's a shame because the food is very good, but the way the information about the water is told to us gives us the impression that we are being pushed to take paid water .... In addition, we were charged € 1.50 for the sauce in the entrecote! We thought it was included in it like everywhere else ... The fries are minimal because 1 bowl of fries for 2 people. A little disappointed when we left.

Great restaurant. A large selection of mussels. But I stayed on the classic marinière mussels. An all the more honest price. Friendly staff, attentive, smiling even under the visors! Remember to book before coming, it quickly fills up, which is positive and notes the establishment's excellent reputation. The only downside is that the fries are not homemade, they are good but the restaurant would be perfect if they were homemade, but given the amount of fries they have to serve per day, we forgive easily. I recommend 100%!

Very, but highly recommended. Incredibly nice and friendly staff. Make a reservation in any case! Sardinia was perfect and the mussels to die for. Very good wines too. We were 2 times and everything was fine.

Regularly come when we are on vacation, this time, disappointed with the sardines which are precooked before the arrival of the customers, they were dry too bad we are still in St Gilles Croix de Vie, on the other hand nothing to say about the mussels

Quiet place even if in front of the station. Warm and pleasant welcome. Staff available and attentive. Card with a lot of choice. A little difficult to choose because everything looks good. I would definitely go back to try other varieties. I highly recommend.

5 stars without hesitation. 50 varieties of mussels. Peasant molds ...... To fall .... The bosses are of a kindness .... Fast service despite the fact of being complete. To taste .. The sardines ... For dessert, profiteroles, excellent .... All is well. Easy to find and plenty of parking spaces 🅿. To do absolutely if you go to St Gilles.

Family meal right now. Very nice home. Nice and nice smiling waiter. Then meal mussels like sardines and homemade desserts nothing to say. I advise more plus plus😁👍.

Superb good mussels "à l'Aquitaine" among the 52 recipes offered. Every time we come to St Gilles Croix de Vie, we come to eat here. Never disappointed. With a smiling and welcoming staff.

Café gourmand was exceptional but the moules were small and bland. Maybe I chose poorly. With other 50 choices this is easily done!

Excellent restaurant, fast service and very nice. Very good prices and good quality of food, mussels are excellent! Edict of August 31, 2019: service always nice, waiting time correct despite the number of customers. Disappointment about the quality of the preparation of the molds which has fallen well, just as the quantity, contrary to the price. The desserts are good and generous.
